Write a letter to the president saying what you hope to see in the next four years of this country. It can be as specific or general as you'd like and as short or long as you'd like. I'll take bits of the responses and turn them into a video next week.
Dear Mr. President,
In the next four years...

Dear Mr. President,
Regardless of whether you turn out to be my candidate of choice, I wish you luck in your term. One commonality I've noticed between every president is that they always seem to visibly age far more than four years during their term, so I believe you'll need all the luck you can manage to garner. It's not an easy job, but evidently, America thinks you're up to the task.
No matter what your focus is over your term, I hope you keep us in mind. Us, being the people of the country that elected you. I hope whatever you do is to our benefit and to the benefit of the nation as a whole, regardless of your individual cares or creed. Don't lose sight of what's important: the homeless man on the corner the single mother scraping by to the office workers to the CEOs. And most of all, I'd like to give you fair warning:
My generation will be the one who writes the next textbooks. My generation will be the ones recording the history of the present day. Do not leave a bad taste in the mouth of history, lest you're left a president laughed at like Nixon. Help us remember you as you hope to be remembered: a good president, who championed the people. All the people—not just the ones who voted for you.
Yours, Kyle

I don't expect you to change the world we live in dramatically. I don't envisage you ending world hunger, war or even taking any dramatic action against climate change. What I do hope though is that you don't bow to the corruption of the world. I hope that you can continue to exist as a pillar to the rest of the world; that you can remain a figure to aspire to be. I don't really know a lot about politics but I know that every child, at some point, wants to have your job. Remember those children when you make a decision, remember the impact you have on those who are still growing towards maturity, still learning the lessons of the world. You are only human and we all learn at some point that no-one's perfect but please try to give children a chance to learn that at a more everyday level and not by shaking the world as they know it. It's not a lot to ask really and if you can do that; you will have done more than many could hope to in your position.

Dear Mr. President,
Pay attention to the things that matter. While money is an object, life is not.

Dear Mr President, Though I am not myself an American, I feel I must ask you most sincerely to at least make some attempt at making healthcare more accessible to the American people. I am English, and while our National Health Service has many flaws, it does serve a purpose in allowing everyone to get the medical assistance they need. The existance of the NHS gives me a sense of safety and security, knowing I will be cared for whenever I need it without any great expense. It allows me to recieve flu jabs and asthma check-ups every year, it provided me with a course of orthadontics free of charge, and it even gives me a discount on my glasses. I am constantly confused as to why more countries don't adopt the same system, and I belive it would be benificial to the US to put something similar in place. Thank you for your time, and I wish you luck for the next 4 years.
Yours sincerely, Briony

Dear Mr. President,
You are going to be under a lot of pressure in the next four years. Hold strong and fast to your beliefs, but do not inflict them upon those who do not share them. Beliefs are a touchy thing these days. Whatever you do - whatever laws you pass or amend, whatever taxes you cut or raise, whatever wars you begin or end - try to make your term one that is looked back upon positively. Best of luck to you.

Dear Mr. President,
Good luck. You have a very challenging job, and I am concerned that it will especially difficult because of the sharp divide in the political parties. I wish you the very best in getting the republicans/democrats to really work with you, and not spend all their time trying to make you fail. Also, try to always act within your morals. When we elect a president, they make claims about the laws they are going to pass, their strategies, and generally what they will do as a president. But being the president is not exactly the most predictable job. There will always be unexpected situations, and unexpected tragedies, and we are counting on you to make the best decision you can. You were elected because people trusted that you will act wisely. Please be careful.

Dear Mr. President,
I do not live in the United States, but avidly supported Barack Obama's election campaign from Britain. I'd message and nag at my American friends, and push them toward that message of change. This election I have watched with that frustration of the shut outs, the exasperated way in which those not entitled to vote in your elections would pace around internet forums gesticulating wildly with simplistic viewpoints. I know it isn't as simple as the hardcore of either side would make it. I don't in any way believe the opposition to be stupid or bigoted, not largely anyway. Amongst those millions of hours of venomous attack ads and the commonly empty rhetoric- the making of points that shouldn't realistically factor in to the argument, the way forward can seem blurred; and the truth is, that way forward may become equally as ambiguous to the man in the front of the crowd.
On all issues you will be required to deal with as President, I have this advice: Strive to transcend partisanship, stick to the middle ground, embrace progress when it can be achieved and dismiss all forms of radicalism. Idealistic desires for the future of your nation ought to be suspended in the day to day and the drudgery of issues in which you don't have much interest. Although radicalism must be eschewed so too must conservatism when the nation has changed to very much, and the issues facing the people so very different.
Pragmatism is key, objective thinking and a critical mind are vital. The wellbeing of your people, not the record of your party is paramount.
My dearest request to whomever may claim the victory is this: Keep a cool head, Mr. President.

Dear Mr. President, In the next four years, I hope you consider what I have to say. I am still very young, and I don't know too much about the economic problems or job issues, and I really don't care to much about taxes. However, even being in my early teens, I am still a part of this country and I have the right to speak my opinions, but I can only hope you'll listen. I've been thinking a lot about this election lately, and I have decided what I wish to see from you. I wont ask for better school lunches, and I wont ask for an Ipad program for our school. What I want is for you, sir, not to forget about us, the future of your country. However important that taxing and gas prices are, I want you to remember that the kids are still here. Not the college kids, but us, the young ones of the country, MY country, and yours as well. Remember that we are the future, and we matter, even before we've come of age. I want you to consider our education, and I want you to make sure we have the absolute best education that you could provide us with. I want you to remember who will be running this country in twenty years and give them the tools they need to help our country prosper. Give us all that you can so that we may take on the United States with confidence. Give us the knowledge and the strength that it will take to make this country great. You wont always be there to help us, so make sure that you've taught us what it takes to make sure that this country can continue on. Like I said, just now I don't care too much about jobs, but I want you to make sure that they are available to me when I do, so that I can contribute to my country. Us kids may be small, but we love this country as much as anyone could, and I want you to make sure we know how to keep it great. This is all I ask.

Dear Mr. President,
I may not live in your country (I'm British), and as such could not vote for you, but these days the President of the United States has a much larger sphere of influence than JUST the USA. Over the next four years please try to remember that while you bring your ideas to fruition they are not just for yourself, or for the people who voted for you, or even the people of the US. Remember that what you do travels farther than you could imagine and we of other countries are watching with trepidation.
Try not to screw this up.
Yours, Joanne

Dear Mr. President:
Congratulations. You've accepted what is arguably one of the most difficult jobs in the world. The people have spoken, and we thought you were more cut out for this than the other guy. Chances are good you'll disappoint some of us--one can't please all people all the time--but it's my sincere wish that the majority of those who voted for you won't regret it.
You chose this path because you have a vision for America, and at least the framework of a plan to get us there. That's the beauty of who we are; we are always growing and changing, and as a nation we're blessed and privileged to be able to affect that change. We ask that you work for us, your people, and not your party.
In the next four years, I'd like to see the US slowly eliminating the penny from circulation. We nerds have done the research, and can provide several useful, humorous, and informative videos in pursuit of this idea. It could drastically cut the national debt, and let's face it, pennies are vastly irritating in their uselessness.
In the next four years, we need to refine and put fully into force an affordable healthcare plan for all citizens. We need low- or no-cost wellness screenings, paid and job-protected family leave, and the phrase "pre-existing condition" needs to be eradicated from the general vocabulary. Let's leave the healthcare decisions to the patients and their doctors.
In the next four years, I'd like to see marriage and all its rights and benefits available to ALL couples. Regardless of your religious affiliation, you must see this to fruition. Same-sex partners should have access to shared healthcare, visiting rights in cases of hospitalization, and other innocuous things hetero couples take for granted. This nation will not spiral out of control if my friend's dads are allowed to legally marry.
In the next four years, I'd like to see a solution, or at least the framework of a solution, to the student debt crisis. Like healthcare, affordable education shouldn't have to be a sacrifice or hardship to the students and their families. While we're dabbling in education, let's find ways to improve ALL American schools. Find a way to take better care of our teachers; they are raising up the next generation to be informed citizens, positive contributors to society.
In the next four years, let's bring our men and women home from the battlefields. Then when we get them home, let's take care of them with the dignity and expediency they deserve.
This country needs many things, Mr. President; this list I've made here isn't even the tip of that massive iceberg. We elected you because in our deepest heart of hearts we know you can move us forward. We have faith in you, sir. Use these four years to show use our faith is not misplaced.
Regards, Angie

Dear Mr President,
I’m not an American, I’m an Australian, but the decisions that you make will still impact me. I mean, as far as countries go we’re close friends right? So I would love to see you pave the way for many westernized countries. Personally I can put this down to three main points. Help people, help the environment and listen.
Human rights seem to be getting more and more forgotten as time goes on. Countries are at war, with each other and within themselves. Rights to homosexuals should be given, rights for people to make their own decisions in life should be given, and that includes controversial matters. People seeking a home should be helped, not sent away. As the President of such an influential nation, you have the power to change the world and I can only hope that you will use this power to help those in need.
Now, as much as we try to deny it, the human race has messed up. Over generations the state of the environment continues to degrade and it’s time that we changed that. We need renewable energy, we need to stop global warming and we need to do it now. I understand that it can only be introduced sustainably at a certain rate due to economic reasons but steps still need to be made. Renewables are the future, shouldn’t we be investing in our future?
My final point is please listen to the people you represent, after all that is what you're there to do and as an Australian all I can do is hope that you make the right decisions so please make them thoughtfully.
Yours sincerely,
Alison

Dear Mr. President, No matter what happens in the next four years, you will have more grey hairs than you have now. Unless you go bald. Which would be unfortunate. Even if you're not my candidate, I would not wish complete and permanent baldness on even my worst enemy, so I advise you to attempt to keep your hair on your head. But this presidency will be stressful, no matter who you are, and you will need all the help and support you can get. There are so many issues, but the one thing that I hope you understand is that the other party, the other candidate, the other country is not the enemy. We, as a country, need to understand that there is no "enemy," there is only just people like us. Understand that, and you will rally more support than any other President before. Evan PS. Marriage equality = yes. I want to get married some day.

Dear Mr. President -
Congratulations on accepting the job as president. If you are the canidate I voted for or not I will respect you and accept what the people of the United States have voted for.
Please remember that all people are created equal and should all have the same rights to love whom they do, worship the god they believe in, and strive for a better life. Help me to feel confident that my disabled pre-teen son will be able to continue get proper medical treatment to become a productive member of society. Let him see that it is ok to dream big towards his future. Remember the single father of four who works two jobs to keep clothes, food, and shelter for his children. Help the economy to grow stronger so, no other parent will have to make the decision to forclose on their house themselves then continue to live in constant fright of it being taken away from him against their will. Please remember that this is my body and I have the right to make the decisions I see works for me and my family when it comes to reproductive rights. I am a mid-thirties mother of three, joyfully married for 13 years, and happily employed at the same job for 14 years. Had I not had the reproductive rights I did 19 years ago my life would have taken a totaly different path, and I fear not for the better. That was a choose I made and I live with. The last thing I am going to ask of you Mr. President before you do anything is, is this the right path for the United States for my children/grandchildren. I know that you will not be able to fix everything in the next four years but, please put the country on the right path to making it a better place for future generations.
Best Wishes - Meghan
